Why Use a Stovetop Grill? - Breakdown and Benefits of Grill Pans

!9#: Why Use a Stovetop Grill? - Breakdown and Benefits of Grill Pans

Why use a stovetop grill? Are they purely aesthetic used only to put grill marks on meat? How do they compare with a good old fashioned outdoor grill?

Stovetop grills, a.k.a. "grill pans", do more than add those dark char grilled marks to cuts of meat. They are great for cooking fish, thin steaks, pork chops, and vegetables. Using this type of grill is healthier than pan frying, because a grill pan allows the fat to drip off of the meat as it is cooking.

These grills aren't the same as an outdoor gas or charcoal grill. The biggest difference is that you are not cooking with an open flame, so the finished product isn't exactly the same. However, it is similar, especially when cooking the items mentioned above. The fact that the method of cooking isn't exactly the same does not mean that meals prepared on a grill pan in your kitchen will be of a lesser quality than meals grilled the old fashioned way.

An indoor grill pan is a great alternative to outdoor grilling. They are a quick and easy way to cook meat and vegetables without having to prepare and clean a commercial grill. Many people say that they are great on a rainy day, but the truth is they are a valuable asset to your kitchen regardless, not just a back up plan. Efficiency is the name of the game here.

Some people prefer indoor electric grills, such as the George Foreman. A lot of these people would give stovetop grill pans a try if they knew how cheap they are. You can get some stovetop grill pans for as little as to , with the more extravagant ones (bigger/better quality) running around 0.

Stovetop grills are a quick and easy way to grill healthy meals. With very reasonable prices, they are worth looking into.
